Khaolak Merlin Resort is managed by a hotelier family from Phuket that has been operating hotels for three generations. When Khaolak Merlin Resort was opened in 2003, the concept was to keep the original landscape of a tropical rainforest by the sea. We decided to keep as much of the trees as possible during the construction which helped us to preserve the habitat for a host of charming wildlife.
We build in only around 60% of our total land area, keeping the rest for nature to grow. Our pools are shaped like forest lagoons and waterfalls. Since the beginning, sustainability is a core value of the hotel, so we installed a water treatment system to irrigate the garden and nurture new trees in our own composting site. Now eco-resort has grown into a little paradise for human and nature to coexist, and we are proud to be the stewards of this space.

Our extensive tropical garden covers 40% of Khaolak Merlin Resort. Through careful landscaping, we created man-made canals and ponds. We also curate orchids, flowers and ferns to give life to our jungle. You’ll feel the majesty of huge trees that give shade and shelter to a community of local wildlife. Some of these trees are rare local species that could only be found in Southern Thailand, existing before Khaolak Merlin Resort.
